This is hands-down my go-to lens, and I keep it wide open at f/1.8 most of the time. The color saturation, sharpness, and ability to capture fairly wiggly (e.g. pets) objects in low light via handheld grip is impressive. Since I started using this lens, my two variable aperture stock lenses pretty much never see any use. The 45mm f/1.8 produces superb bokeh at shallow depth of field and makes for some great looking videos, allowing you to really get creative with bringing dynamic and dramatic focus to different parts of the screen.

My only complaint is that it has a minimum focus distance that doesn't play nicely with my want to get up close and personal, macro-style. It can also be a little slow to auto-focus.

If you own a camera that can use this lens and you're considering a prime, this is the one to invest in!! My photos with this lens consistently get "wow!"s and "ooo!" reactions.
