Lightweight, Very sharp for Kit lens, added more 1 glass (compared with old AF-S 18-55mm VR II), Quick Viewfinder Focus, Overide Focus, you don't need to set Manual focus first, Great VR and macro
It's all plastic, a discount lenses. Very limited Compatibilty. Barrel Distorsion At 18mm. soft corner At 35mm (still sharp enough). Strong Color lateral (yellow and blue) in 18mm

It straight out the box with my D5300, Viewfinder Focus is lot faster than before, lens is lightweight and feel good in hand, focus ring is extremely smooth too.

what i don't like there is no button in any side of the lenses
and the barrel distorsion is higher than most Kit lenses, in 18mm, the Lateral blue & yellow is quiet distracting for me, despite the incredible sharpness all around the images.

i do like a weight and sharpness, but stills, i like a button to find alternative way to set up VR,so i don't waste a time to tripping the menu.

    so....it's huge let down?, NO!

VR work fine to me, with Incredible Optic Quality,Excellent Sharpness even Wide Open, and Lightweight. what a fantastic lenses in less than 150$

this lens is more like "man behind the weapon" series

Outstanding Low Price for Superzoom Good VC for 200mm, Acceptable Central Sharpness, Robust Build Quality, 5 Years Warranty, NO Zoom Creep, Fairly lightweight for Superzoom lens, Smooth Looking bokeh in 200mm.
Autofocus mecanishm is dated, Poor Edge Sharpness, VC could be jerky, Imprecise manual focus (30 Degree), The Zoom Ring resistance little bit strong to pull off, Unimpressive Close up Image Quality, Macro Magnification is Not Great, C

In Order to get acceptable image quality in most focal leght, you have to stop down between f/8 to f/11, That's Quite Dark for such a tiny apeture, it would be nightmare for low light or indoor, but if you shooting in midday, you would be fine, that's typical superzoom lens.

i spend a holiday with these lens, and most image quality are not bad at all at f/11. Especially price tag, i didn't complain that much,
