New version of muvee Reveal Conceived and Designed Specifically for Netbooks

LAS VEGAS, NV – January 5, 2010 – (Virtual Press Office) - muvee, the pioneer and leader in home movie-making software and services, today announced a Netbook version of muvee Reveal will be previewed at CES. muvee Reveal Netbook edition was created specifically to enhance Netbooks from being primarily a secondary machine for mobile computing, entertainment and communication, to a portable personal media creation and sharing device.

The muvee Reveal Netbook edition software enables users to take videos and photos from their cameras via the SD card reader, their Flips or even from online sources like Facebook and shwup. Then, in three steps, muvee Reveal automatically creates a professional-looking home movie synced to the beat of the music that can be shared on social networks like Youtube and Facebook or uploaded to a private group album at www.shwup.com.

“As the Netbook category evolved, we realized that many existing Windows applications simply are not built from the ground up for the Netbook,” said Terence Swee, CEO, muvee. “In designing our Netbook version, we drew heavily on our rich experience in creating powerful video editing applications for smartphones. This avoided the approach of simply providing a cut-down PC version and allowed us to focus on how people are actually using these always-connected mobile computers to view, create and share their personal media over the Web. The Netbook user is a complex mashup of a Smartphone, PC and Cloud user. muvee is already a leader in consumer video applications for both the Mobile and PC and Online platforms. We are now working hard to bring all of that expertise to bear on creating superior software for Netbooks.”

"An NVIDIA ION processor transforms a netbook into a fully-capable, small notebook,” said Michael Steele, General Manager, NVIDIA Visual Consumer Solutions. “By using the graphics processor to handle the video, muvee Reveal Netbook Edition provides a great multimedia and entertainment experience on ION-based netbooks."

muvee has been developing software for mobile devices since 2004. The muvee Reveal Netbook edition leverages this experience and muvee’s patented automatic video production technology to design a powerful video creation product from scratch for the Netbook user. It boasts design features like conserving battery life in CPU-intensive operations, using the GPU for high frame-rate real-time video previews, optimized user interfaces which take advantage of a Netbook’s wider but shorter screen size, reduced memory footprint, reduced peak memory usage, faster loading and rock-solid power mode options like hibernate and sleep modes--even when midway through rendering video or uploading to online sharing sites.

The muvee Reveal Netbook Edition is also tightly integrated with muvee’s online private video and photo sharing service, shwup.com, so users are able to always archive and share privately all their media while on the go; and, more importantly, being able to also access these albums via both their Netbook, Smartphone or home PC.

muvee Reveal Netbook edition is expected to be released March 1st, 2010.
