Toshiba Japan has today announced a new digital camera that follows in the footsteps of its Sora PDR-T20 model.

Not announced in the USA at this stage (we are querying our contacts as to whether it will be sold here at all), the Sora PDR-T30 is stylistically very similar. Where the previous model sold in three color schemes (silver, champagne gold and pink), though, the new one will be available only in 'Titanium Grey' and 'Silky White'. The -T30 features a touch-screen LCD display like both the PDR-T10 and PDR-T20 before it, as well as the same 1.5 inch, 118,000 pixel LCD display, SD Memory Card slot and 2x optical zoom lens as its direct predecessor.

The most obvious change other than body color is a boost of the imager from a 2.01 to a 3.24 megapixel (effective) CCD. Another significant change is the addition of a movie mode which records 320 x 240 pixel AVI MotionJPEG clips. The only other change we noticed is that the bundled 8MB Secure Digital card has been replaced by a 16MB card.
