Photokina 2002, Cologne, Germany (September 20, 2002) - Creo Inc. (NASDAQ: CREO; TSX: CRE) announces the next generation of the LeafTM Capture workflow application that provides new easy-to-use tools for the professional capture and control of images in digital photography.

The LeafTM Capture V8 application focuses on making professional digital photography easy to use and streamlining the photography capture workflow. Special attention is given to the methodology of window arrangement and photographic capture work patterns. The workflow's new graphical user interface is intuitive while maintaining Leaf's commitment to16-bit uncompressed quality and full support for ICC color management. The application supports both Macintosh® OS 9 and OS X.

"Simplicity was our inspiration in building this application," says Adina Shorr, Creo corporate vice president, Leaf Products. "We relied on the feedback we received over the past decade from more than 6,000 users of Leaf Capture when we implemented Leaf Capture V8. It was important for us that a new Leaf user, as well as our existing customers, would all benefit from a single application."

Arranging All the Tools
The new Leaf Capture V8 application features a unique, built-in 'Arrange' menu that draws together all the relevant tools for the user for each step of the capture workflow. The user selects workflow stages such as Capture, Edit, and Output and the application sets itself automatically and organizes the tools necessary for each stage, optimizing photographic work.

Choice of Settings
The Leaf Capture V8 application lets the user choose standard or advanced settings. The standard mode allows for easy, straightforward shooting using Leaf default presets. The advanced mode provides comprehensive tools and features to control every image parameter. These menus allow the new user to be immediately productive, while acquiring proficiency in digital photography at his or her own pace.

Arranged for Personalization and Portability
The Leaf Capture V8 workflow also allows the user to create personalized settings, which can be saved and re-used. Customization is also extended to arranging the windows for the photographer's preference and for special workflows. The workflow allows the user to create settings for portable shooting that provide the same control on-location as in the studio. The unique 'Arranged for Portability' menu takes the customized ICC input profiles, sharp tables, develop curves, neutral settings and cropping selections, and automatically exports them for shooting in the field.

Creo at Photokina
Photokina visitors can experience the power of the Leaf Capture V8 workflow in a hands-on studio at the Creo stand. Live demonstrations will also be underway in studios on the booth. See Leaf digital photography in action at Photokina 2002 from September 25-30 in Hall 10.2, stand M048/N049
