CompactFlash Memory Available At Crucial Technology

Leading Memory Upgrade Supplier Extends Product Line Beyond DRAM

MERIDIAN, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 2001--Crucial Technology, one of the world's largest memory upgrade suppliers, today announced a product line extension to include Type I CompactFlash(TM) memory cards - small, removable storage cards used in a variety of electronic devices, including digital cameras, handheld computers, and digital music players.

``Crucial's customers bank on the fact that we make it easy and inexpensive to get the quality memory technologies they need,'' said Scott Heimgartner, Product Marketing Manager at Crucial. ``Now that handheld electronic devices and digital cameras are so popular, expanding Crucial's product line to include CompactFlash cards is a logical step.''

CompactFlash cards are designed with Flash technology, a non-volatile storage solution that does not lose its information once power is removed from the card. CompactFlash memory is noiseless, considerably lighter, consumes less battery power, and much more rugged than a rotating disk drive. Crucial offers CompactFlash memory in seven different densities: 8MB, 16MB, 32MB, 48MB, 64MB, 96MB, and 128MB.

Customers receive a 10-percent discount when ordering the cards online through Crucial's Memory Selector(TM) program, a proprietary Web tool that makes it easy for customers to match the right memory with their electronic devices. The Memory Selector(TM) program is available online at http://www.crucial.com/.

More information about the advantages and uses of CompactFlash memory may be found in Crucial's online library at www.crucial.com/library. Crucial's CompactFlash memory products are mechanically and electronically compliant with the CompactFlash Association's (CFA) specifications.
