Phil Askey offers his verdict on Canon's top-notch digital SLR after trying out a production model...

We just recently updated our review of Canon's EOS-1D professional digital SLR after trying a full production-model camera, and our friends at the Digital Photography Review website have just done the same. Phil concludes:
"[The] EOS-1D is a superbly capable digital SLR. Not only can it deliver beautiful images with great resolution (which seems to be beyond its 4.5 megapixel count), sharpness and balanced colour but it does so from what could be the most robust and best built 35mm SLR bodies ever. [It] truly does deserve the Highly Recommended rating but if you're the type of photographer who will find themselves consistently shooting at high ISO's (ISO 800 or above) then you really need to ... decide if you can live with the [high ISO] banding."
For much, much more (Phil says this is his longest review to date!), be sure to hop on over to the Digital Photography Review website. When you're done, get a second opinion from our own review...
