Rob Galbraith today broke news of US pricing on Nikon's D100 digital camera, and we can concur. It's not a rumor anymore, we've confirmed it with Nikon - their US sales staff is telling people in the dealer channel that the "unofficial *estimate*" for street price on the D100 is $1999.95. This is for the kit, including camera body, Charger (MH-18), LiIon battery pack (EN-EL3), USB cable, and Nikon View 5 software. This puts the D100 "estimated street price" about $200 below the competing Canon EOS-D60.

No doubt about it, this is going to be a great year for Digital SLR users!

Thanks to Peter Burian for this item!
