Sophisticated battery charger "can be used with virtually any battery packs for digital cameras, two-way radios, cellular phone, camcorders, and more"...

Maha Energy Corp. has announced an update to its top-of-the-line MH-C777PLUS charger, analyzer and conditioner, The MH-C777PLUS-II. There are several changes over the previous model, including:
  • Discharge-only capacity analysis: the charger retains the discharging capacity of a battery, allowing user to rate battery performance.
  • Enhanced Lithium Ion / Lithium Polymer charging algorithm: Up to two times faster in Lithium Ion / Polymer charging time.
  • One-touch reset switch
The MH-C777PLUS-II has to be about the ultimate charger for the battery geek - it will charge pretty much any pack out
there: NiCd, NiMH, LiIon, voltages from 1.2 to 14.4 volts. A lightweight travel AC adapter and car kit are included, and optional battery holders are available to accomodate AAA and AA rechargeable batteries.

The new discharge-only capacity analysis seems to use to be a particularly desirable feature, giving a more accurate picture of the battery's capacity under actual load conditions. It could be rather useful for knowing whether you've got a problem with a battery pack or not...

The Maha MH-C777PLUS-II battery charger has an MSRP of $89.95.
