| The Galaxy Contest 2002: Submit your graphic artwork and win one of 70 great prizes! June 28, 2002 - The Plugin Site (http://thepluginsite.com) is pleased to announce the Galaxy Contest 2002. This contest is a showcase for the amazing effects that can be achieved with edges, frames, photos, textures and plugins. Our aim is to inspire everyone to use these materials and add-ons, and create stunning images and effects. This contest offers the chance to unleash creative freedom, to present artwork to the public and to win many great prizes. Everyone is invited to submit his or her images and animation to the ten contest categories.

An interactive contest gallery which displays the images right after the participants uploaded them, is available at the same URL. Visitors of the Contest Gallery can view the submitted images and animations and add their comments. All contest participants are advised to carefully read the contest rules available at the Contest web page.
Time Schedule

The Galaxy Contest is running from June 27 until September 30, 2002. All images and animations submitted during that time will take part. It is expected that several hundred or thousand creations will be sent in from artists all over the world. After that date a jury of several experts will give their vote for the contest entries and select the winners. Finally the creators of the seven best images in each contest category will then receive a prize. The winners will be announced at the Contest web page in October 2002.

The Plugin Site is a web site mainly about Photoshop-compatible plugins. It also covers graphic applications, video editing and other related topics. It hosts various freeware and commercial software products, a search engine for image effects, discussion forums and various image galleries. There are also large Resources, Reviews and Know-How sections. Furthermore, The Plugin Site publishes a monthly e-zine called "Plugin News" which is sent out to 60,000 readers.
