Gear Review: The Velbon "MAXi" Tripod!

Tripods are important pieces of photo equipment, but they often get short shrift by photographers and reviewers alike.
It made sense then, for IR Newsletter editor Mike Pasini to share a little of his thought process when he went shopping for a lightweight "travel" tripod recently. As Mike points out, "lightweight" and "tripod" aren't terms that naturally do well together (Mike's description of tripods doing the 'Limbo' is one many photographers will recognize themselves!), but he apparently found near-nirvana with a Velbon "MAXi".
