Lexar Media Announces JumpDrive Trio: The Most Versatile USB 2.0 Storage Drive

Upgradeable and Compatible With Memory Stick, SD and MMC

LAS VEGAS (CES, Booth #35093R), January 9, 2003 - Lexar Media, Inc. (Nasdaq: LEXR), a leading designer, developer and marketer of award-winning high-performance digital media and accessories, announces JumpDrive Trio, the latest addition to the company's industry leading JumpDrive product line. The JumpDrive is the Lexar Media portable USB storage product line that enables users to easily store, carry and transfer files that are often too large to fit on a floppy, as is the case with many presentation, video and music files.

JumpDrive Trio adds expandable, upgradeable memory to the JumpDrive line, for consumers who value flexibility. The device features a three-in-one card slot that accepts either Memory Stick, MultiMediaCards, or Secure Digital cards. It is the only USB flash drive to incorporate all three media formats in one device. JumpDrive Trio's capacity is limited only by the size of the memory card inserted, with the current maximum capacity at 512MB, using a Secure Digital card.

JumpDrive Trio uses Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface technology for faster data transfer rates and is backwards compatible with the USB 1.1 ports found on most computers. With USB 2.0, users can achieve transfer rates up to 40 times faster than USB 1.1. JumpDrive Trio requires no drivers for modern operating systems such as Windows 2000, ME, XP and Mac OS9 and X. The JumpDrive Trio also allows for interoperability and transfer between PC and Mac systems.

"Lexar Media is pleased to offer JumpDrive Trio, which provides all the benefits of a USB flash drive, but with unprecedented flexibility. JumpDrive is a practical new way to store, transfer or carry data for students, business people and anyone on the go. With JumpDrive Trio, it is also possible to use and reuse storage media and expand memory capacity as needed," said David Klenske, director of product marketing, Lexar Media.

JumpDrive Trio is the third JumpDrive introduced in the past year by Lexar Media, each addressing a specific customer need. JumpDrive Trio is expected to ship in February 2003 and is available at retail with Memory Stick media in either 64MB or 128MB capacities.
