Pre-PMA Leak Department|
(Thursday, February 20, 2003 - 16:16 EST)
As happens every year, with PMA fast approaching the leaks have well and truly begun...
This year, we've already seen cameras from several companies leak ahead of their official announcement times, and today we hear news of two more leaks. According to LetsGoDigital.nl, digitalkamera.de, digicamera.net and digit.no, a slipup by the WalMart.com website temporarily revealed two new digital camera models from Canon.
The PowerShot S50 looks to be a follow-up to the current S45, with resolution boosted from 4 to 5 megapixels. The PowerShot A70 meanwhile looks like an update to the extremely popular PowerShot A40, with resolution again boosted from last year's 2 megapixels to 3.2 mpix this time around.
We are under a non-disclosure agreement with Canon, so please be patient and we'll have the full story when the time comes... We're not reproducing any of the images leaked by WalMart, since they'd be either the copyright of Canon or WalMart and no permission has been given to use them.
In the meantime, you can see the information and images that were leaked on the LetsGoDigital website for both the PowerShot S50 and PowerShot A70. You can also find pages from Digitalkamera.de here, from digit.no here, and from Digicamera.net here...
