Sigma's SD9 digital camera. Sigma SD9 pricing adjusted

An email from our good friend Peter Burian notes that pricing on Sigma's SD9 digital SLR has significantly dropped following Canon's announcement of the EOS 10D at a stunning $1500 during the PMA Spring 2003 show.

We'd already noted the price-drop in our database, but Peter's email prompted us to mention it on the news page. Previously, the SD9 retailed at around $1800, but Sigma's pricing looks to have been adjusted to just slightly lower than Canon's price. Ritz Camera, B&H Photo and Adorama are selling the camera within a buck of $1499, whilst State Street Direct are currently selling it at $1489 (and if you buy today, you'll get free shipping as well).

As always, you can check prices on the SD9 through our affiliation with PriceGrabber.com. Obviously the price really isn't much different to that of the EOS 10D, but depending on what you want in a camera it could still be a good buy - both the SD9 and 10D have their advantages and disadvantages; no camera is perfect for everybody.

Thanks to Peter for prompting us to note the price drop!
