PRESS RELEASE: Breeze Systems Announces Canon EOS 10D Raw Conversion

March 24, 2003 - Breeze Systems today released version 2.6 of its popular BreezeBrowser software for digital images. BreezeBrowser v2.6 includes raw conversion of images from the new Canon EOS 10D and Canon Powershot S50 cameras together with enhanced color profile support, improved IPTC data editing and a new focus point overlay display.

BreezeBrowser now supports Canon EOS 10D and Powershot G3, S45 and S50 raw conversion. It uses the Canon raw conversion routines for highest possible image quality and includes the latest patches from Canon to fix the Canon Powershot G3 and S45 custom white balance and linear conversion problems. BreezeBrowser now supports raw conversion for 13 different Canon camera models.

With more and more cameras being able to output images using AdobeRGB colorspace the color profile support in BreezeBrowser has to been extended to read profiles from PNG (Portable Network Graphics) and Adobe PSD files. BreezeBrowser can use color profiles for the accurate display and printing of images and automatically convert images to sRGB when creating web pages.

BreezeBrowser's already powerful IPTC data handling has been further enhanced to load and save IPTC data to file. This makes it possible to load common settings from file and then apply them to a set of images using the batch IPTC editor. BreezeBrowser can edit IPTC data in JPEG, TIFF, Canon raw and Nikon raw files.

New in this release is the focus point overlay display when viewing raw files from Canon EOS D30, D60, 1D and 1DS cameras. When this option is selected active focus points are displayed in red and inactive ones are shown in black.

BreezeBrowser v2.6 is available online from www.breezesys.com and costs US $44.95. This release is a free upgrade for registered users.
