A little over an hour ago we told readers about the Canon PowerShot G5 digital camera, as it was announced by other sites in Europe and the US, as well as Canon's own BeBit website.

At the time we had little information available beyond the European press release, but have since compiled full specifications from Canon BeBit. We can also now point readers to the very first sample photos from the Canon PowerShot G5 on that site - with the usual proviso that there's no way to know whether these sample photos are representative of production cameras, or even if the photos have been retouched in any way. Still, they make for an interesting preview of Canon's new 5 megapixel, 4x optical zoom digital camera.

My Camera Settings (customizing)

The Start-up Image, Start-up Sound, Shutter Sound, Operation Sound and Selftimer Sound can be customized using the following methods:

  1. Using the images and sounds recorded on the camera
  2. Using downloaded data from your computer using the supplied software
