Mulligan Updates myPhoto Album Software
By Mike Pasini, The Imaging Resource
(Thursday, June 12, 2003 - 11:07 EDT)

Michael Mulligan today released myPhoto 1.2, a free PHP program to automatically create photo albums directly from iPhoto for Web sites running Apache and PHP.

"All you have to do is plug in your digital camera, import your photos as you normally would into iPhoto, organize them, add whatever captions you want, and voila! Your photos are on your Web page!" according to Mulligan.

Mulligan emphasized the integration between myPhoto and iPhoto, "Everything you do in iPhoto -- download pictures, set captions/keywords, categorize photos into albums, set the size of the thumbnails, etc. -- carries over into myPhoto. Once installed, myPhoto can be left alone and your photo album will always be up-to-date."

Visitors to your page have several ways of navigating your album. They can flip through pages of album thumbnails, select albums from a dropdown menu or search for individual photos by date, keyword or for more images like the currently displayed one. They can also view a slideshow.

A toolbar even lets them resize and print your image directly from their browser.

myPhoto lets you customize your page appearance using preset color schemes, set thumbnail size and toggle captions. It will also check for new versions.
