CS-box.jpg PRESS RELEASE: Adobe Expands Camera Raw File Support in Photoshop CS

Updated Camera Raw Plug-in Photoshop CS Now Supports Over 60 Camera Models

SAN JOSE, Calif. - April 26, 2004 - Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ: ADBE) today announced support for 13 additional digital cameras in an update to its Adobe Photoshop® CS Camera Raw plug-in. Adobe now provides "raw" file support for 63 camera models from 13 leading manufacturers including, Canon, Contax, Kodak, Konica Minolta, Nikon, Olympus and Sigma. The Camera Raw plug-in allows professional photographers to easily manipulate their "digital negatives" without sacrificing image quality.

Since the launch of Photoshop CS in the fall of 2003, Adobe has steadily expanded its support for a wide range of digital camera models with the Photoshop CS Camera Raw plug-in. The ability to work directly with raw files provides professional photographers with greater freedom, control and flexibility, including:

Freedom to manipulate raw data such as adjusting white balance, sharpness and saturation without leaving these decisions to the camera's automatic settings.
Control to access raw images before they are converted into formats like JPEG and TIFF.
Flexibility to create and save customized color profiles for individual cameras with improved interface and advanced calibration controls.

Expanded raw file conversion, the redesigned File Browser, comprehensive support for 16-bit color images, and new Shadow/Highlight and Match Color features make Photoshop CS essential to any professional photographer's workflow.
