Nikon USA has posted a new document on its support website that describes upcoming firmware updates for three of its digital SLR cameras.

According to the document, available in the Nikon Knowledge Database, the firmware will see some of the updates seen in the recently-announced D2Xs digital SLR trickle down to the existing D2X, D2Hs and D200 models. Nikon's image authentication functionality (which will require a separately available software package) will be offered in all four models - D2Xs, D2X, D2Hs and D200. The D200 firmware update will also include support for the upcoming WT-3 wireless transmitter. A number of other D2Xs improvements will be offered in the D2X and (to a lesser extent) the D2Hs.

Courtesy of Nikon's support document, we've compiled a table below describing the changes in more detail, as well as which camera(s) they apply to. Nikon is stating that the D2X and D2Hs firmware will be available this Fall. No timing is given on the D200 firmware, but one might infer it would be available in roughly the same timeframe.
