Photokina Bulletin: Tuesday at the Show

Following the exhibit hall layout, organizing the show according to the imaging workflow, today would be Camera Day. And that's just what our video crew and roving reporter are covering right now....
We'll have video later of Fujifilm's Andy LaGuardia explaining how the new S5 Pro and F313fd tap into the company's unique face recognition software, developed for its photo processing systems.
And we took a peek at Samsung's GX-10 dSLR, with its passive, active and dust mapping approaches to dust removal, a feature that seems to be increasingly common.
Panasonic discussed its new L1 dSLR based on the Four Thirds standard, which touts the largest number of digital lenses available at 29. One of which is the company's new f1.4 25mm (50mm equivalent) Leica on display here.
At its press conference just concluded, the company placed heavy emphasis on its Ourplace project in partnership with World Heritage and UNESCO. Covering 830 locations in 138 countries with 20 professional photographers commissioned to use Lumix cameras, the project is another of the company's efforts to enhance "the photography culture."
