PRESS RELEASE: Sony Develops Four New PictureStation Systems

Includes Two Models for 4- by 8-inch Photocard Prints

LAS VEGAS(CES Booth # N110), Jan. 8, 2006 - Sony today introduced four PictureStation™ models with faster, quality output for improved productivity, more print sizes and digital scrapbooking software.

The PS500DLX3/BL kiosk system is equipped with three printers: two high-speed UP-DR150 roll printers, the UPD75 printer and a scanner for print-to-print pictures.

The new PS500DLX4/BL system offers the same plus a fourth printer, Sony's new UP-CX1 4- by 8-inch photocard model.

Both of these systems print wallet-sized, 3.5- by 5-inch , 4- by 6-inch, 5- by 7-inch and 8- by 10-inch digital photos.

The other two new systems include the PS500CTR/150 countertop model with a UP-DR150 printer, and the PS500CTR/X1 model with a UP-CX1 printer.

"Sony's new PictureStation systems keep those retailers in mind who want to offer printing services, without giving up lots of space or disrupting their workflow," said Shari Sentlowitz, Sony Electronics' marketing manager for digital photofinishing products.

Each system is equipped with the new UPA-PC500 terminal that has a built-in receipt printer. The terminal accepts most digital media, including DVD and USB, and has a 15-inch (viewable area, measured diagonally) touch screen.

The new PictureStation line allows customers to add creative borders and text to images, create personalized cards, collages and digital scrapbook page layouts using an easy-to-use interface - all within a smaller footprint to maximize space

The PictureStation kiosk systems are now available at suggested list prices of $14,500 and $13,525, respectively.

The countertop PictureStation systems are now available at suggested list prices of $6,000 and $4,950, respectively.
