LAS VEGAS – March 8, 2007 – Announced today at PMA 2007 (Booth # B142), PNY Technologies®, Inc. introduced several new higher-speed, higher-capacity digital storage solutions, including its 8GB Optima™ Pro CompactFlash™, its 1GB and 2GB Optima Secure Digital™ as well as its 8GB Secure Digital™ High Capacity (SDHC™) Class 6 cards.

“Our newest array of flash memory cards provide photo enthusiasts and other mobile device users with more choices based on the speed they need to capture and transfer information; the volume of files they’d like to store; and the host device they are using,” says Laurie Hill, product manager, flash media for PNY Technologies. “No one wants to miss the action or that ideal shot. We are continuing to round out PNY’s flash media portfolio with cards that capture and store even more images, mpeg videos and digital music, quickly.”

Available from specialty camera retailers and e-tailers in April 2007, PNY Technologies’ new flash memory cards include:

  • Optima Pro CompactFlash – a high-speed, high-capacity card to store up to 16GB of data with a minimum data transfer rate of 40MB/second (266X).
  • 8GB SDHC card – a new high capacity SD card to support performance requirements of today’s Class 6 (or lower) rated host devices, such as camcorders and digital SLR cameras.
  • Optima Secure Digital - a high-speed card that stores up to 1GB and 2GB of data with a minimum data transfer rate of 20MB/second (133X).

PNY’s full line of flash memory cards meet a range of professional and amateur needs and also include xD-Picture™ cards, MiniSD™ and MicroSD™.
