News is continuing to come out of Japan on the situation at famous camera brand Pentax.

An article from Bloomberg confirms yesterday's reports of a planned focus on digital cameras, medical equipment and optics such as DVD lenses. The item further includes a statement from Pentax President Takashi Watanuki contradicting yesterday's reports from Japan that Pentax would sell its headquarters property and surrounding land. Managing Director Shinichiro Mitsuhashi goes on to predict that Pentax will raise its annual digital camera production from 3 million units this fiscal year, to 4 million units by 2010.

More info can be found in the Bloomberg article.
