Software Review: SilverFast 6.5r6
By Mike Pasini, The Imaging Resource

We take a look at three important new features in the latest release, updating our 2002 review of version 6.

It may still be version 6, but SilverFast has added a few new tricks to its scanning act. So we thought it was time to update our 2002 look at Lasersoft's venerable scanning software.

We're most impressed with its Multi-Exposure option, not available for all supported scanners, unfortunately. If you're lucky enough to have a supported scanner, you'll get scans with more highlight and shadow detail and less noise in just two passes than you ever got multisampling.

There's more in release 6 of version 6.5 and we cover the highlights in our updated review. Use the Table of Contents to skip to the new section.
