Kopin's EVF is becoming the standard for leading camera makers

TAUNTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 21, 2007--Kopin(R) Corporation (NASDAQ: KOPN), the leading provider of microdisplays for mobile consumer electronics, announced today that FUJIFILM Corporation, one of the world's finest camera manufacturers, has chosen Kopin's CyberEVF(R) 230K-NF electronic viewfinder (EVF) for its new FinePix S700 digital camera. The compact SLR-styled FinePix S700 is designed primarily for amateur photographers interested in upgrading to an affordable yet more advanced digital camera. The S700 is available at a suggested retail price of $249.95.

The CyberEVF 230K-NF enhances the photographer's experience by delivering crisp, brilliantly detailed images even in bright sunlight. It also provides the viewing precision required throughout the entire range of the optical zoom, which is crucial for meeting the fine focusing needs of all photographers. Kopin's complete EVF solution benefits digital camera manufacturers by substantially reducing their production cost and time to market.

The high-zoom S700 with a seven-mega pixel CCD is ideal for photographers who want to upgrade to a more advanced compact digital camera yet maintain operational simplicity. Its powerful 10x optical zoom - with a 35mm focal range equivalent of 38-380mm - ensures closer, clearer subjects in the highest quality digital pictures. It allows taking pictures at low light levels without flash (up to ISO 1600) at full resolution. Other features of the FinePix S700 include Picture Stabilization for blur-free images, i-Flash (Intelligent Flash) for optimum flash output, and 14 pre-programmed scene modes offering one-touch setting for nearly any situation.

"We are delighted to partner with Fujifilm in fulfilling its ongoing commitment to innovative digital imaging solutions for its customers," said Kopin President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. John C.C. Fan. "Kopin developed the CyberEVF 230K-NF as an advanced electronic viewfinder for the new generation of high-zoom digital cameras. These SLR-style cameras are becoming very popular because they combine affordability and excellent picture quality. We see increasing demands for our EVF products because they provide the best value to digital camera manufacturers by offering the complete solution with superb image quality in a compact package. Our goal is to make Kopin's advanced electronic viewfinders the industry standard among the world's leading digital camera manufacturers."

Kopin's new CyberEVF 230K-NF incorporates a full-color CyberDisplay(R) 230K with QVGA (320 x 240) resolution, ultra-thin backlight, and optics in a tiny package. The CyberEVF 230K-NF is more compact than the earlier CyberEVF 230K with the focus mechanism. With 15x image magnification and 22-degree field of view, the viewfinder generates large, high-resolution, vivid color images with virtually no distortion or color aberrations. The module's low power consumption (less than 100 mW) addresses a photographer's need for a long battery life.
