Canon is to begin the first shipments of EOS 5D Mark II digital SLR to its dealer network tomorrow, according to our good friend Rob Galbraith.

Citing Canon's Chuck Westfall, Technical Advisor for the company's Professional Products Marketing Division, the article on Rob's site suggests that the first 5D Mark II bodies might be arriving in US customers' hands by the end of the week, although this does depend on shipping time and the speed with which dealers are able to turn the initial stock around.

US-based photographers who've preordered the camera and have been eagerly awaiting its arrival will doubtless be the envy of their Canadian brethren, as Rob reports that the first shipments in that country aren't expected until the following week... No information is currently available on whether 5D Mark II-specific accessories will be available immediately alongside the camera body, or are due to follow shortly thereafter.

For more details, read Rob's article.
