Olympus has today released an updated version of firmware for its Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm F4.0-5.6 lens.

Firmware version 1.1 for the Zuiko 9-18mm lens has one change: it aims to increase autofocus responsiveness when using the Live View LCD and Imager AF (I-AF) functions of a Four Thirds system digital SLR. Instructions for applying the new firmware update can be found on Olympus' "Joint update service for Four Thirds Lenses" web page.

The Olympus Zuiko 9-18mm lens was first announced in May 2008, and has a compact ten ounce, three inch long design. A super wide-angle zoom lens, it offers 35mm-equivalent focal lengths ranging from 18 - 36mm. It first shipped from Fall 2008, priced at about $600.
