Kate Labs launches Frame testing utility

Helsinki, Finland-based Kate Labs has announced the release of its digital camera and lens testing utility Frame, which has been under development since August 2008.

Frame is available for Windows XP and Vista, as well as for Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5. It can operate either from a graphical user interface or the command line, and supports a variety of charts including:
  • ColorChecker

  • ColorChecker SG

  • ColorChecker Gray Scale

  • ColorChecker White Balance

  • Kodak Q-13 Gray Scale

  • Kodak Q-13 Color Separation

  • Kodak Q-14 Gray Scale

  • Kodak Q-14 Color Separation

  • Kodak Q-60 Gray Scale

  • Kodak Q-60 Color Separation

  • ISO 12233 Resolution Chart

Frame v1.0 offers analysis of resolution, vignetting, exposure, signal-to-noise ratio, dynamic range, tonal range, color sensitivity and color temperature. Pricing is set at €99, and screenshots plus a 14-day trial are available on the Kate Labs website.
