Dublin, California and Reading, UK, 20 July, 2009 – Pandigital, the number one provider of digital photo frames (DPFs) in the US, is pleased to announce the European launch of its PanTouch Clear line of digital photo frames, which deliver a dramatic new design marked by creating the perception of ‘floating’ digital images.

Measuring just a third of an inch in terms of width, these frames are the thinnest on the market. With the rear housing normally used in DPFs completely eliminated, the ultra-slim PanTouch Clear models can easily be hung on a wall or integrated discreetly into any other location around the home or office.

A clever combination of revolutionary technology and user-friendly product design
To create the floating effect, the new PanTouch Clear frames feature an eye-catching 800x600 high-resolution display that appears to be floating in the surrounding glass. The look is contemporary and unique, yet the styling will fit into any traditional home. Even the frame’s stand is transparent for an unobstructed view.

In addition to the new design, the PanTouch Clear frames are incredibly easy and enjoyable to use. Pandigital has enhanced its popular interface to be even simpler and more intuitive by making all the primary functions accessible in a one-step process. Customers can select and view their photos and control the frame's functions with easy-to-understand icons that can be touched directly across the entire glass surface of the frame.

To accomplish this, the frames feature leading-edge touch technology, which prints invisible circuits on fingerprint-resistant, clear glass. The benefit is that customers can now enjoy intuitive full touch-screen capabilities with a premium home décor-style that uses real glass just as a traditional photo frame does. Other digital frames on the market use capacitive-touch technology that require the consumer to directly touch the LCD panel, preventing the use of glass.

"Pandigital's position as the leading US digital photo frame provider comes from delivering products that use the latest in unparalleled technology to improve and simplify the customer experience," said Dean Finnegan, CEO and founder, Pandigital. "These new Pandigital PanTouch Clear frames look incredibly sophisticated and unique, while offering the simplest DPF user interface in the industry.”

Finnegan added, "Like our entire line of digital photo frames, the new PanTouch Clear models continue our tradition of offering unsurpassed style and first-rate design and quality at the best value.”

PanTouch Clear frame models
The PanTouch Clear frames come in two sizes – 8 inch and 10.4 inch. Both models have an 800x600 resolution on the vibrant full colour LCD with a 4:3 true photo aspect ratio, maintaining the consumer preference for digital photo frames that emulate traditional printed photos and don’t distort or crop the digital image.

The 8 inch model includes 1GB of storage that allows up to 6,400 images to be stored using Pandigital's memory optimisation mode. The 10.4 inch model offers 2GB and can store up to 10,000 compressed images.

The new frames accept common memory card brands. The PanTouch Clear 8 inch model has a 6-in-1 digital media card reader (Compact Flash, SD, XD, MS/MSPro, MMC), while the 10.4 inch model has a 5-in1 digital media card reader (SD, XD, MS/MSPro, MMC) so customers don't need to connect to a computer to view their photos. Customers who want to download photos from their computer onto the Pandigital PanTouch Clear frames can do so via a USB connection.

The new PanTouch Clear frames come with additional features that make them enjoyable to use, such as wireless and Bluetooth compatibility for a direct connection to a home wireless network, or to Bluetooth compatible devices (using a Bluetooth dongle that can be purchased separately). In addition, the frames each have programmable on/off times, as well as a clock and calendar functions. They can view JPEG photos, play video and MP3 music files.
