Sony USA has published updated firmware for three of its Alpha series digital SLRs - the Sony A230, A330 and A380.

The new firmware v1.10 for all three cameras includes the same noted change, being said to improves the auto exposure lock function of the cameras. When running the new v1.10 firmware, the Sony A380, A330 and A230 will now lock exposure while the shutter button is half-pressed with the metering mode set to either Spot or Center Weighted.

Announced in May 2009, the Sony A330, A230 and A380 have closely related bodies. The Sony Alpha A330 and A230 both offer 10.2 effective megapixel resolution, while the A380 boosts this to 14.2 megapixels.  All three feature a common user interface, penta dach-mirror viewfinders, and 2.7" LCD displays. The Alpha A230's display is fixed in position, while the Alpha A330 and Alpha A380 both offer articulated displays and automatic brightness control, as well as live view functionality.
