Improve automatic cropping and a fix for Canon scanners on OS X highlight the new release.

Hamrick Software has announced the release of VueScan 8.6.29, its scanning application supporting over 1,200 scanners on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows.

Highlights of the new version include:

• Improved speed of saving files and refreshing screen (2x faster)

• Improved cropping of negative film

• Improved 'Crop | Multi crop' to outline all frames

• Improved Turkish language support

• Fixed problem with some Canon scanners on Mac OS X

VueScan is available in a $39.95 Standard Edition with a one-year free upgrade period or a $79.95 Professional Edition with an unlimited upgrade period and support for Raw scan files, ICC profiles and IT8 color calibration. A free trial version of the program is also available.
