Europe's Leader Breaks Into app Market Bringing Photos to Life Whilst on the Go

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire - June 25, 2010) -- Today PhotoBox, Europe's leader in photo printing, sharing and personal publishing, launches its first iPhone app – PhotoBox2go.

Available to everyone with an iPhone or iTouch, the free to download UK app allows photo lovers to instantly log in to their existing account, letting them easily store and view photos whilst on the move.

The fun, social app makes sharing and storing photos effortless, aiming to make life easier for happy snappers. At a touch of a button teenagers, students, parents and grandparents can choose to flick through and reminisce over treasured moments; upload photos to PhotoBox from their phone; or download images to their mobile allowing them to instantly share stories and memories on screen with friends and family.

Thanks to the app, photos are instantly accessible and available to share in seconds. No matter the when or where, be it on the bus with friends and wanting to show off recent holiday snaps, or be it wanting to delight friends with your baby's first footsteps; the app provides one touch access to a whole personal catalogue of stories, memories and cherished images.

Furthermore the app serves as a universal photo hub. The ever increasing popularity of the iPhone for day to day photo capturing, with digital cameras being used more and more for special occasions – such as weddings and holidays, PhotoBox2go means there's no longer a need for photos to be stored or forgotten on separate devices. Instead all life's best bits can be uploaded to one PhotoBox account, with the added bonus of photos being kept safe from device damage or loss.

Community driven and customer centric, this first app launch from PhotoBox focuses on continuing to meet the real and developing needs of the company's growing 3.5million UK customers. To ensure the app's evolution is driven by its members and their needs, users can enjoy voting on future features and functionality they'd like to see via their phones.

Mark Chapman, MD at PhotoBox, commented: "We're now celebrating 10 years in the industry and as with every development our goal is to better integrate our services into the increasingly busy and more mobile lives of our customers. Our aim remains the same as it did 10 years ago; to make our service effortless and enjoyable for all to use."

"PhotoBox2go is a real testament to this vision and continues the company's tradition of looking to revolutionize the way in which its members interact with their accounts. We plan to build on this initial step, with the help and feedback of our customers, to further develop the potential this exciting app has to offer," Chapman concluded.
