Canon Inc. has today released updated firmware for its EOS 7D  single-lens reflex digital camera that fixes several possible issues in previous versions.

Like the recent updates for the Rebel T2i and 1D Mark IV, the new firmware fixes an issue with manual exposure movie shooting, where the lens aperture could change unexpectedly with certain unspecified Canon lenses, including macro lenses. In addition, the new firmware fixes a problem with AF point-selection behavior when Custom Function III-7 (Manual AF point selection pattern) is set to Continuous, and a problem with the AF point display when shooting in portrait-mode using the viewfinder electronic level. Finally, some typos in the Spanish and Thai menu systems have been fixed.

More details, including installation instructions and the update files for either Windows or Mac OS systems, can be found on Canon's EOS 7D firmware download page.
