Shutterfly Selected as Official Provider of Online Photo Services to AYSO teams

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Shutterfly, Inc. (NASDAQ: SFLY), the leading internet-based social expression and personal publishing service, today announced a partnership with the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), the leading youth soccer organization in America. Through this partnership, when an AYSO team is formed in its online registration system (eAYSO), Shutterfly will automatically create a free Shutterfly Share site as a safe and secure place for the team’s coaches and parents to share pictures and videos, manage game and practice schedules, access volunteer assignments and more.

Shutterfly’s Share sites are one of the leading solutions for free private video and photo sharing for groups and families. More than two million Share sites have been created since the service launched in August 2008, each one offering transparent privacy controls that are simple to navigate and manage.

“Youth sports teams and parents everywhere face the challenge of safely sharing memories and information easily and privately,” says Peter Elarde, chief marketing officer of Shutterfly. “With this innovative integration with eAYSO, Shutterfly is making it easy for AYSO coaches to get a team site up and running in a matter of minutes; creating a secure central hub for team sharing and communications that enables everyone to focus on the fun and excitement of the season.”

All AYSO Team Share sites are private and accessible only to team coaches and players’ parents, and have been approved as meeting the high standards of AYSO’s Safe Haven® program, a nationally recognized program that ensures player and volunteer safety on and off the field.“

Child safety is a primary concern for AYSO, especially when it comes to sharing photos and information among team members, parents and coaches,” says Jill Meshekow, director of Safe Haven® for AYSO. “With the proliferation of social networks and other online sharing options in recent years, we felt it was critical for us to provide a destination that guarantees the security of our teams’ photos and contact information. We chose to partner with Shutterfly because only Shutterfly Share sites met our high standards for privacy and security, ensuring our team parents and coaches a safe environment for sharing all the winning moments that make up a season.”

This season, hundreds of thousands of parents and coaches will be able to immediately share photos, videos and other important information once they activate their team sites. Among the many site features are:

  • Integrated game and practice schedule with automatic email reminders

  • Snack duty sign-up tool

  • Player availability tool

  • Unlimited storage of full resolution photos, with albums automatically created for each game to easily create, share and order photo books and photo gifts

  • Ability to comment, “like” and add “tags” to photos

  • Easy to use team announcements and email capability

Each Share site lets team members easily create any of Shutterfly’s award-winning photo products and keepsakes to commemorate the season, including photo books, large format prints and more.
