The following two Ricoh digital camera models were presented iF design awards.

  • GXR
The GXR is a revolutionary camera system in which lenses are changed by using a slide-in mount system to attach camera units to the highly rigid magnesium body. The lens, image sensor, and image processing engine are integrated into the camera units so the body itself does not contain an image sensor. The photographer can match the optimum camera unit to the scene being photographed, the result being easy lens changes and an amazing level of flexibility and image quality. Concealing infinite possibilities in its small body, the GXR has had a very strong reception as it pioneers a new realm of photography.

  • G700SE
As an expanded function model of the G700 water and dust resistant digital camera, the G700SE has wireless LAN and Bluetooth® functions as standard features and enables the use of GPS and laser barcode reader functions with options. The G700SE can do wireless data transfer to external devices, and with the internal-electronic-compass-equipped GPS unit (option) installed, it can add position and direction information. When the laser barcode reader unit (option) is installed, it can also do rapid recognition of one-dimensional (linear) barcodes.
