Japan's Noritsu Koki Co. Ltd. has announced an application for the Apple iPhone that integrates its AccuSmart technologies to improve image quality for shots captured with the onboard camera.

The Noritsu AccuSmart Camera application is available immediately from the iPhone store, where the company notes it has already seen 17 million downloads in just the first four days after release. Ordinarily priced at ¥230 (approximately equivalent to US$2.80, ignoring exchange rate fluctuations, taxes, and duties), the application is available free of charge through the end of the year.

AccuSmart Camera include four shooting modes -- Standard, Portrait, Dish, and Night Scene -- and allows images to be captured by tapping the screen. It also provides a 4x digital zoom, electronic level function, four aspect ratio options (1:1, 3:2, 4:3, and 16:9), and a shake control function. More details can be found on the AccuSmart Camera website.
