Upcoming Versions of Corel's Enthusiast Video Software Take Advantage of 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors to Deliver Enhanced Performance and 3D Capabilities

CES, Las Vegas - January 05, 2011 -- Corel today announced that it is building new versions of Corel® VideoStudio® Pro and Corel® WinDVD® Pro optimized for 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processors - codenamed Sandy Bridge - to give users an even more fun and enjoyable video experience. Upcoming versions of VideoStudio Pro and WinDVD Pro will take advantage of the power of Intel's new chips to deliver enhanced performance and 3D capabilities.

"This is perhaps the most exciting time ever for video on the PC. Capture devices are in everyone's pocket and it seems that streamed video content is available almost anywhere. But even in a world full of video, fast and easy editing has remained the missing piece of the puzzle," said Shawn Cadeau, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at Corel. "The fun and streamlined software environment of Corel VideoStudio Pro will take advantage of the processing power of new chips like the 2nd generation Intel Core processors to deliver a new experience that will break down the barriers to video editing. Offering creative freedom, raw speed and instant gratification, this is movie making like you've never seen before."

With the latest hardware and software advances, waiting for results is becoming a thing of the past.

WinDVD Pro optimization for Intel's new chips also improves PC video playback. WinDVD Pro uses 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processors to power its 3D Blu-ray capabilities, delivering stereoscopic 3D support and ease of output to external 3D display devices, all while using less power.
