Will Begin Offering Time-Limited Exclusivity Licenses and “Choose Your Price”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Dreamstime, leader in stock photography, has implemented a variety of new features on its site dedicated to targeting new audiences through incentives and increasing precision in the approach to customers' needs and contributors' value.

Always focusing on using new technology for the benefit of its artist contributors, Dreamstime is proud to include geo-tagged images using Google's platform Google Maps and Google Earth. With geo-tagging from the world’s number one search engine, contributors are able to precisely add a location to images, streamlining the search process for designers who may be creating materials for a certain geographical or tourism focus. Geo-tags have already been added to more than 100,000 images and future uploads can be geo-located automatically with the use of a GPS camera for maximum precision. Designers can now explore specific locations via high quality imagery that can also be licensed. In addition to downloading the images, web travelers can also zero-in on their destination of interest – a photo journey.

“With the ever-evolving technology, we are pleased to include geo-tagging on our site,” Serban Enache, CEO of Dreamstime explains.“With our contributors and designers spanning the globe, the inclusion of point-to-point location on a file reiterates just how small our world truly is. The unification of artists, designers and photographers is just another way we bring people of different places together.”

Dreamstime takes a great deal of company pride in the ease of its search options. Coupled with the geo-tagging search function, the main page of the site has now added a new detail within the “Latest” tab; with this addition, users can view the most recent downloads as well as the location of designers who downloaded the image.

Committed to opportunity for both users and contributors, Dreamstime unveils new designer features. Contributors will benefit from the creation of new licenses (SR-EL1 & SR-EL3), based on the SR-EL license – full and exclusive rights; the new licenses are similar to the original full buyout licenses (SR-EL) yet cost several times less and award exclusive rights for the limited time of either one year or three years. After the exclusive rights have expired, the file is automatically enabled back to the Dreamtime site, creating more revenue opportunity for the photographer or artist.

In addition to new licenses, a “Choose Your Price” function has been created that makes purchasing several images for one all-inclusive price possible. The designer can include any price they are willing to pay for the download of the selected lightbox items; Dreamstime’s only restriction will be a minimum based on the files they have selected – a price deemed fair based on royalties awarded to photographers.

Three new weekly subscriptions are also released today for designers with short-term projects to complete. With the weekly option, subscribers are able to download up to 10, 25 or 50 images per day. While the subscription is similar to Dreamstime’s current monthly subscription, the new, abbreviated subscription is available at a lower cost (only $64.99 for up to 70 images).

“Dreamstime is proud of its dedication to its customers and looks forward to their feedback on the licenses and price negotiation function,” Enache continues. “The new site elements are the most recent advancements in the company’s history of developing unique navigation, offering fair compensation for contributors and maintaining an active and in-depth library of images.”

April showers "may" bring more "powers" to Dreamstime customers. In celebration of the month of April, today (April 1, 2011), Dreamstime will offer images from its entire library, from every and any category and license, ABSOLUTELY FREE during the next during 24 hours! For details on this one-day-only “playful” promotion, please visit: www.dreamstime.com.

Late last year the stock photography company celebrated the site’s 10 millionth photo uploaded by a contributor and today, with 11 million images, Dreamstime.com is currently the second leading agency in total customers with over 12 million unique visitors monthly to the site and is one of the most popular web sites in the world. The acceleration in numbers overall makes it the fastest growing stock agency worldwide. In addition to the more than 170,000 free images available, Dreamstime’s active gallery is updated by the second with photos from the site’s 100,000-plus contributors.
