Hoya Corp. has today released new firmware for its 645D medium format digital SLR, as well as its K-5 and K-r APS-C SLRs.

The updated firmware release v1.11, available immediately for all three cameras from the Pentax global website, has but one change. An issue with GPS data recorded using the O-GPS1 accessory device being decoded incorrectly when developing raw images in-camera has been corrected. No other changes are stated in the new firmware release.

Pentax K-r owners with a customized version of the camera should note that if they upgrade using this link, they will lose any custom startup screen. We believe affected versions would include the Rilakkuma, Korejanai, Bonnie Pink, and Tower Records rainbow versions of the camera. It isn't clear if customized versions of firmware will be offered for owners of these models.

More details can be found on the K-5, K-r, and 645D firmware download pages.
