Redesigned Website Integrates Latest Imaging Technologies, Expanding Product Selection and Improved Ease of Use

WASHINGTON, DC, Sep 27, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Ritz & Wolf Camera & Image, the premier retail destination for cameras and imaging, today announces a revamp of its online imaging site RitzPix.com. Through a partnership with Lucidiom Inc., the leading provider of online photo solutions, the redesigned site features a new look, enhanced photo editing, extended product offerings and robust functionality with Microsoft's latest Silverlight technology.

"Whether you are sharing photos on Flickr or printing an old black and white print, the photo industry continues to evolve and we are dedicated to providing a website that is both relevant and functional," explains Peter Tahmin, vice president of Imaging and Online for Ritz Camera & Image. "The new RitzPix.com experience is innovative, fun, easy-to-use and ties the in-store imaging experience, of our more than 1800 kiosks nationwide, to the web for the first time."

New Website Highlights

  • Microsoft Silverlight is a powerful tool that runs on your computer and delivers rich Internet applications and media experiences on the Web. With most functionality, on the new RitzPix.com Microsoft Silverlight-based site, navigation is faster and smoother.

  • The new website meets the expectations of its nearly 300 stores, coast to coast, by offering the same in-store products online. New products available online include aluminum prints, 3D cards, animated cards, hard cover calendars, mini wall calendars, photo wrapping paper, note cards, stationary note pads, 5x7 flat stationary cards and pre-printed envelopes.

  • To complement the product expansion, RitzPix.com has added a wider variety of themes including more than 50 new photo book layouts, more than 400 new greeting card designs, new calendar and collage choices, and many more to come.

  • Users can edit photos via Picnik, making photos fabulous with easy-to-use, powerful editing tools. A snapshot of editing options with Picnik includes text with photos, red eye adjustments, clip art, speech bubbles, lighting and contrast.
