If you're looking for a digital SLR, this really could be superb value...

Fuji Photo Film USA Inc. has announced a 25% cut in the list price of the FinePix S1 Pro, along with a significant addition to the camera's bundle - a 1GB Microdrive! Fuji's press release notes that its S1 Pro price cut, which takes the list price from $3999 to $3000 is only temporary, valid through April 15th 2001... Here to stay though, is the Microdrive 'Bonus pack', which will remain in the camera bundle even after the price cut ends.

Fuji notes that the 1GB Microdrive 'Bonus Pack' has a retail value of $499, so if you were already planning to purchase one with the camera, you're essentially buying the camera itself for about $2500, as compared to the previous list price of $4000. Wow!

FUJIFILM ANNOUNCES LIMITED TIME PRICE BREAK FOR FINEPIX S1 PRO, DIGITAL SLR CAMERA

Offer Good Through April 15, 2001

Fujifilm Also Announces Bundling Of Free 1GB Microdrive(tm)

Elmsford, NY, February 22, 2001 - Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. today
announced a significant price reduction for its FinePix S1 Pro Digital
Camera, its first interchangeable lens SLR model with Super CCD technology.
Fujifilm has dropped the suggested list price for the FinePix S1 Pro from
$3,999 to just under $3,000. The reduced price is good through April 15,
2001. At the same time, Fujifilm announced that it is now bundling, on a
permanent basis, a 1GB Microdrive "Bonus Pack" - a $499 value - at no extra
charge.

"This is a tremendous cost break for photographers who want a high-quality
professional digital SLR camera," said Jennifer Davalos, Marketing Manager,
Commercial Markets Division, Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. "In addition to
its attractive price, the free, high-capacity Microdrive storage device
offers commercial photographers another good reason to consider the S1 Pro
for their professional needs. With 1GB, a photographer can take a small
library of high resolution pictures with the FinePix S1 Pro/Microdrive
combination before concerning themselves with storage capacity."

The FinePix S1 Pro, which sports a 1.1-inch Super CCD with 3.4 million
sensors, can record pictures at three resolutions (3040x2016, 2304x1536 and
1440x960) and in three file formats (TIFF-RBG, TIFF-YC and JPEG). Because
of the large picture file sizes that the FinePix S1 Pro can produce
(approximately 18MB uncompressed), the Microdrive's extra storage capacity
will prove especially useful to professional photographers, enabling them to
shoot up to 55 high resolution photos without having to choose between
erasing or downloading photos to a computer. In addition to the Microdrive,
which operates through the FinePix S1 Pro's CompactFlash(tm) (Card Type II)
slot, the Bonus Pack includes a PC card adapter and a field carrying case.

The FinePix S1 Pro incorporates Fujifilm's patented Super CCD technology,
which gathers more image information than conventional CCDs of the same
sensor count, delivering an increased signal-to-noise ratio, greater
sensitivity and a wider dynamic range for clear, sharp and colorful
pictures. In addition to three resolution settings, the FinePix S1 Pro has
three compression modes (fine, normal and basic) within the JPEG file format
and captured images can be viewed on the camera's 2-inch liquid crystal
display. In addition to the Microdrive, the camera provides users with two
other removable storage options: SmartMedia(tm) (up to 64MB) and
CompactFlash (Card Type II.)

The FinePix S1 Pro is suitable for a wide range of professional photographic
tasks thanks to its adjustable ISO equivalents of 320, 400, 800 and 1600,
shutter speeds of 30 to 1/2000 second, and continuous shooting of
approximately 1.5 frames/second up to five frames. It also has a Nikon F
lens mount, making the FinePix S1 Pro compatible with most Nikon series
lenses, thereby giving photographers the option of using their existing
optics.

The FinePix S1 Pro offers a variety of image capture controls. These
include four shooting modes (single frame, continuous, preview and multiple
exposure), five exposure modes (general-purpose program, auto-multi program,
shutter-priority auto mode, aperture-priority auto mode and manual exposure
control) and five variable program modes (portrait, landscape, close-up,
sport and night scene.) In addition, there are eight modes for white
balance (auto, fine, shade, incandescent light, custom and three for
fluorescent light.)

The USB-compatible FinePix S1 Pro has dimensions of 5.8" (W) x 4.9" (H) x
3.1" (D) and weighs 29 ounces. In addition to the Microdrive, it is
packaged with a CD-ROM with camera-shooting software, USB and video cables,
a 16MB SmartMedia storage card, four AA alkaline batteries for the
image-handling system and two Lithium batteries for controlling the camera
system.

Special Tamron Lens Rebate for FinePix S1 Pro Buyers
Also bundled along with the camera is a rebate coupon for select Tamron
Special Performance lenses. If purchased within 30 days of the final FinePix
S1 Pro purchase receipt, buyers will receive a $200 rebate for Tamron's SP
AF14mm F/2.8 Aspherical (IF) Rectilinear, SP AF20-40mm F2.7-3.5 Aspherical
(IF) or SP AF28-105mm F/2.8 LD Aspherical (IF) lenses. There will be a $100
rebate for the purchase of the SP AF90mm F/2.8 1:1 macro lens.

To receive the rebate, a receipt for both the FinePix S1 Pro digital camera
and Tamron lens, along with a UPC bar code for each, must be submitted with
a completed coupon and Tamron warranty card. This offer will end March 31,
2001.
