Phil Askey reviews Sony's update to the existing DSC-S70 digital camera...

Our friends over at the Digital Photography Review website have now posted their review of Sony's DSC-S75 digital camera. The DSC-S75 is a replacement for the DSC-S70, and has a whole slew of improvements over the previous camera, the most visually obvious being a more film camera-like shape with the lens nearer the center of the body.

Phil concludes:
"The Sony DSC-S75 enters the 3 megapixel 3x zoom market with an aggressive low price, considering the excellent set of features, good build quality, great image quality and bundle (remember, the battery and AC adapter are included). At this price it's really hard to beat."
Note that the reviewed camera is a pre-production model, and hence our standard caveat applies... The camera should be representative as a baseline of what the final model should be capable of, but digital camera firmware is usually still being tweaked mere days before the cameras reach store shelves, and so the final version may offer improvements in speed, image quality or elsewhere.

When you're done reading Phil's extensive review of the camera, which includes the usual in-depth look at camera functionality along with numerous sample images, check out our own full review, as well as Steve's Digicams' first look, both posted back on February 9th.
