Groupe Dumoulin signs up with Seattle-based online photofinisher...

PhotoAccess.com Corp. has today distributed a press release announcing that it has signed an agreement to provide a privately branded photofinishing site for Canadian retailer Dumoulin. The deal should see Dumoulin's website offering customers online photo-sharing and photofinishing capabilities by mid-August.

Dumoulin has 101 retail stores across Canada, and sells to both Canadian and American customers via its website. The company will offer starter kits at its retail stores including 30 pre-paid prints, free shipping, and PhotoAccess' PhotoStreamer software with which to transfer their images to the company's website.

Jerry Barber, president and CEO of PhotoAccess noted:
"Dumoulin represents another in a series of large, well-established retailers that we’re working with that are integrating digital photo finishing into their Web and stores. Dumoulin’s decision to do this now is a very strategic move that will reap excellent returns, as digital photo finishing is expected to be a $4B market by 2005."

PhotoAccess and Groupe Dumoulin Team Up To Provide Digital Photo Finishing Services to Camera Owners

Major Canadian electronics and computer retailer with 101-stores adds PhotoAccess’ photo infrastructure services to www.dumoulin.com

SEATTLE, Wash., and Quebec, Canada-July 24, 2001 - PhotoAccess.com™ Corporation and Groupe Dumoulin announced an agreement today to create a privately branded, robust digital photo image storage, print, and delivery service-complete with in-store photo pickup, e-commerce, and fulfillment processing at www.dumoulin.com.

Dumoulin, located throughout Canada, is a major retailer of digital cameras and other consumer electronic products that serves over 5 million customers through its 101-store franchise. The new digital photo system, hosted by PhotoAccess, will complement Dumoulin’s well-established digital camera merchandising programs, creating a rich digital photo experience for the consumer.

“Dumoulin chose PhotoAccess for its superior customer service record, exceptional technology solutions, fast infrastructure set-up, and reputation for high quality prints and services,” stated Michel Auger, e-commerce director from Groupe Dumoulin. “We’ve been known for giving our customers the best products and service since 1946 and our partnership with PhotoAccess will be no exception. We intend to make our online digital photo center a convenient solution for both in-store and Web-only digital camera users to obtain quality digital prints and merchandise.”

By mid-August, PhotoAccess-the leading Internet retail Applications Service Provider (ASP) of digital camera photo finishing solutions-will integrate its digital photo finishing infrastructure systems with Dumoulin’s English speaking Web site. In a second phase, scheduled for completion in September, the same services will be offered in French.

Dumoulin customers will be able to purchase a starter kit at any retail outlet that includes 30 pre-paid prints, free shipping, and PhotoAccess PhotoStreamer™ software that allows them to upload digital images from their camera to the company’s Web site. PhotoStreamer provides easy transfer, making it simple to store images indefinitely online and arrange them into albums with guest viewing privileges. Customers and their guests then have the convenience to order customized photos in any size, shape and dimension as well as pay for them online or in the store, and receive prints in-store or at-home. In addition to prints, Dumoulin customers can order photo merchandise for birthdays, anniversaries and other holidays that include professional jigsaw puzzles, gift-wrap, mugs, t-shirts and more.

Jerry Barber, president and CEO of PhotoAccess said, “Dumoulin represents another in a series of large, well-established retailers that we’re working with that are integrating digital photo finishing into their Web and stores. Dumoulin’s decision to do this now is a very strategic move that will reap excellent returns, as digital photo finishing is expected to be a $4B market by 2005.”* (*InfoTrends Research/2001)
