(From Konica Minolta lens literature) This new medium telephoto Macro lens is capable of continuous shooting from infinity to 1:1 magnification ratio without the aid of attachments. The advanced focus ring has been widened and will not rotate while in AF. The lens is equipped with a focus-hold button and focus-range limiter for reduced focusing time and improved operation. Plus, it has a circular aperture, and utilizes a double-floating element focusing design. It is ideal for macro shots of foliage, small wildlife, portraits, and scenic photography.

Very good image quality, suitable for portrait too
Not perfect construction - some wobbling of front element.

I'm using this lens with my Sony DSLR-A100.
I recommend it for owners of any Sony DSLR.

    Sharp, versatile, 1:1 AF

I am actually using the older non-D version. Optic-wise, sharp, versatile, life-size AF, among the sharpest 35mm optic ever produced. Very high contrast, excellent for macro photography, however, the lens would be too sharp for portrait.
