The Ricoh PX couples a 16 megapixel CCD image sensor and Smooth Imaging Engine IV image processor with a 28-140mm equivalent, Ricoh branded 5x optical zoom lens. The PX's body is dustproof, waterproof to three meters, and impact resistant to 1.5 meters, and a silicone jacket is included that provides further protection against drops and scratches. Despite its ruggedness, however, the PX's body manages not to look like an exercise in bulletproofing. It's perhaps a little boxy, but overall the design is quite clean and straightforward.

Ricoh PX firmware version 1.10 includes two main changes. The zoom operation speed has been increased, and review quality on the camera's rear-panel LCD screen has been improved.

More details can be found on the Ricoh website.
