Olympus has one such lens in its own catalog at the moment, the M.Zuiko Digital 12-50mm f3.5-6.3 EZ. Announced last December, this lens is due to start shipping in the US market any day now. Micro Four Thirds partner Panasonic launched its first two Power Zoom lens models late last year.

The new firmware update for the Olympus P3, PL3 and PM1 has just one change. After updating any of these three models to firmware version 1.2, they will correctly show focal length for the attached motorized zoom lens on the monitor while shooting, in playback mode, and in the EXIF headers of captured images.

To get the new version, download the Olympus Digital Camera Updater, and follow the instructions.
