Apple issues raw compatibility update

Click here to visit the Apple website!If you're using Apple's Mac OS X Lion, and want to work with raw files from your shiny new camera or camcorder, a quick download may be in order today, as a new update from Apple brings OS-level compatibility for a variety of new raw file formats to Apple's imaging applications.

The Apple Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 3.10 adds support for seven new cameras and one camcorder from five manufacturers, in both Aperture 3 and iPhoto '11.

The newly-supported models include the following:

  • Canon PowerShot G1 X

  • Nikon D4

  • Panasonic

    • Lumix DMC-GX1

    • Lumix DMC-FZ35

    • Lumix DMC-FZ38

  • Samsung NX200

  • Sony Alpha NEX-7

  • Sony NEX-VG20
