Here’s a new “must-follow” Instagram account for space photography: NASA!

If you're an Instagram user -- and we know many of you are -- here's a brand new must-follow account: NASA. NASA on Instagram is the first time the agency has, officially, joined the popular photo sharing service.
There are, however, several NASA-related Instagrams already out there that are also worth following if you like images of space, including NASAGoddard on Instagram, which is the official account of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.
The new NASA Instagram, at the time of this writing, only had a few images posted on its account but they are, predictably, stunning. One image is the classic shot (below) captured from Apollo 11 in 1969, showing the Earth rising over the moon.
"We're constantly looking to expand our social media portfolio to include tools that will best tell NASA's story of exploration and discovery," NASA's press secretary Lauren Worley said in a press release about the new Instagram account. "Instagram has a passionate following of users who are hungry for new and exciting photos. We believe we have some of the most engaging images on and off the planet — and we can’t wait to engage with Instagrammers."
