Panasonic FZ1000 Shooter’s Report Part II: Head-to-head with the Sony RX10, but which will triumph?

Right before the Photokina tradeshow that took place in Germany in September, I kicked off my Panasonic FZ1000 review with a real-world shoot at a nearby tomato festival. I'd planned on this second part of the report following rather sooner, but between a flood of tradeshow work, a much-needed family vacation in Colorado and another glut of work to catch up on my return... well, you may know what Scots poet Robert Burns had to say about the best laid schemes o' mice an' men!

Still, the delay meant that I had another chance for a splash of vibrance, and so I recently went shooting the fall colors in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. And for this second and final Shooter's Report, I had the Panasonic FZ1000's main rival -- the Sony RX10 -- along for a side-by-side comparison in the real world. (Want to see how they compare on paper, first? Look at our Panasonic FZ1000 vs. Sony RX10 comparison.)

It was interesting, to say the least! I must admit, I had some preconceived notions about how the comparison would go, but as it turns out, the result was rather more decisive than I was expecting. So which camera did I favor shooting with the most -- the Panasonic FZ1000, or the Sony RX10? Find out in the second and final part of my Panasonic FZ1000 Shooter's Report!

(And if you've been waiting for the videos -- and especially the 4K video -- to view, watch this space. YouTube is being temperamental at the moment, and we couldn't get it to accept any uploads. We should have more shortly, though, and have provided several original files for night videos, including a 4K clip with some pretty impressive detail!)

But enough of that -- go read the Shooter's Report now! (And if you didn't already read the first part of the report, you'll want to start there instead.)
