Westcott has officially released its latest lighting solution. It’s called Flex and as its name alludes, it’s a bendable piece of white material covered with LEDs.

The premise behind this ten-square-inch device is that it offers more versatility by ‘bending’ light around your subject, exactly as you deem fit. It weighs only five ounces and is water resistant.

There are 166 dimmable LED lights covering the surface of the mat. The dimming functionality allows for more precise control using the onboard dial, letting users adjust brightness from 5% to 100%.

Westcott’s Flex comes in two variations: a daylight balanced model and a tungsten balanced model. The output at one meter is 1,900 and 1,200 lumens, respectively.

Unfortunately, all of this functionality comes at a price. A rather large one. Both models cost $500. If you’d like to purchase one, you can do so by heading over to B&H, where you can find both the daylight and tungsten models.
